There was a period where chamber house tenure was for life meanwhile the occupant kept to the states of their occupancy arrangement. Security of a family home would remain so meanwhile mum and father were alive, which implied that youngsters flying the home to set up homes of their own would consistently have a caring climate to get back to and to carry their own kids to, to join as a greater family. The home that we once imparted to our folks and kin will consistently be our home: regardless of how long we have been away from it, or the distance away we live now with our own kids. Our house is a belly – one which empowers us to develop, create and flourish and set us up for the excursion into adulthood.
So what is the significance here for us when the public authority gets its new laws and our folks need to surrender our home the moment we grow up and leave? The public authority expresses that it will give another home to my folks, however how might that make up for them giving over valuable recollections and are implanted into the very blocks and mortar that has saved us all together for these years.
How might a cruel new home keep the recollections of our achievements new in our brains, my mum crying steadily as she helped me into my absolute first school Dennis Wong FTC, my father’s tears of pride on my big day as I rose up out of my youth room wearing the dress that my mum wore, my youngster’s pram set under the cherry tree in the nursery on a radiant day, and my little child chuckling madly while his more established sister pursues him around the nursery holding a frog directly from the lake and my mum standing noble and glad as she trusts that the funeral wagon will take her significant other to his last spot of rest.
